After listening to his footwear customers express their struggles with foot pain, Vince decided to become a Certified Pedorthist, sparking his desire to make a deeper impact in his community. Starting small, he integrated a foot clinic within his retail shoe store—Vince DeVito’s Orthotics—expanding over the years into a larger clinic right next door. Over the past 30 years as a Certified Pedorthist, Vince has been delivering specialized foot care solutions alongside his retail and shoe repair services.
Vince is passionate about how the worlds of shoe repair and pedorthics complement each other, and he finds great reward in helping people manage foot discomfort, making everyday life more comfortable.

With over 45 years in the footwear industry and three decades dedicated to pedorthics, Vince DeVito is a trusted expert in foot health. His passion for shoes runs deep—rooted in his family's legacy of shoe repair, which began in Trail, BC, in 1926. As the third generation in the DeVito family business, Vince has passed on his knowledge not only to his sons but also to the next generation of pedorthists, his successor, Logan Jacobs.
Committed to keeping high-quality pedorthic care accessible in Nelson, BC, Vince continues to share his expertise with those throughout the Kootenay-Boundary Region seeking comfort, support, and mobility.
Logan Jacobs
Certified Pedorthist & Certified Athletic Therapist
Born and raised in Kaslo and Nelson, Logan is passionate about supporting the health and well-being of his hometown communities and surrounding areas. Mentored by Vince DeVito, he pursued a Diploma in Pedorthics from Western University graduating with distinction while gaining real hands-on experience in footwear and shoe repair at DeVito’s.
As both a Certified Pedorthist and Certified Athletic Therapist, Logan combines his expertise in lower limb health, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, and custom orthotics and footwear to provide a comprehensive approach to foot care. Honoured to be part of the Kootenay Pedorthic Clinic, Logan is dedicated to carry forward the clinic’s reputation for quality and care for its clientele.

Step 1: Health History & Assessment
We start with a thorough review of your health history and conduct an in-depth assessment of your lower limb health, including range of motion tests and gait analysis.
Step 2: Personalized Treatment Plan
Based on our findings, we discuss how we can help and present potential treatment options tailored to your unique needs.
Step 3: On-the-Spot Solutions & Orthotics Fitting
Treatments like choosing new footwear or casting for custom orthotics, can be done during your appointment. Custom orthotics take 3–4 weeks to manufacture and we’ll notify you as soon as they’re ready.
Step 4: Ongoing Support & Follow-Up
To ensure your goals are met and discomfort is addressed, we offer complimentary follow-up appointments for the first year following your initial assessment.

With 99 years, and counting, of family expertise, Vince DeVito’s Shoes and DeVito’s Shoe Repair offers professional retail and repair services for all types of footwear. Located in Nelson, BC, DeVito’s is a proud retail carrier of brands such as New Balance, Red Wing, Meindl, Asolo, Blundstone, and their own DeVito branded Logger Boot “The Bobtail”. DeVito’s is also the only Certified Red Wing Repair Service in Canada, and offer repairs for all footwear from shoes, hikers, work boots, heels, sandals, and more.
Working side-by-side with DeVito’s is a excellent complement to the Kootenay Pedorthic Clinic’s custom orthotics and foot care services, enhancing the quality of care we provide to our community and clients.
